Ministries
Sunday School
No matter what your age, we have something for you at Forest Home. Our Bible Study on Sunday morning uses Southern Baptist literature which studies the entire Bible in nine years. The program is age graded with a variety of classes from which to choose. There are men's, women's, and co-ed classes for every adult age, as well as a Sanctuary class with no age distinction. We also have a full-graded Children's Sunday School, along with an exciting Youth Sunday School.
Worship Ministry
The Worship Ministry at FHBC has two main goals: To use music effectively in our praise to God in worship, and then in our praise of God in witnessing. We have a full program of music opportunities that include: a Children's Choir, Handbell Choir, Adult choir, Youth Praise Team, Preschool Choir and various smaller ensembles.
Student Ministry
FHBC Student Ministry exists for 7-12th grade students to stay Grounded in the Word of God, Engage in Worship to our Loving God, and Cultivate the World for the Glory of God! We welcome all students to join us for Sunday School, Sunday Evening Discipleship Training, Wednesday Night Bible Study, and fellowships and events!
Discipleship Training
FHBC offers a variety of study classes on Sunday nights. There are classes for everyone, from preschool to senior adults.
We also offer a Bible Drill class for children from Third through Sixth grade.
Senior Adults
There is always a place for senior adults at Forest Home. There are Sunday School classes for both men and women each Sunday morning. The Harvesters meet on Sunday nights to study and learn more about the Bible. The Joymakers meet once a month for food, fun, and fellowship.
MissionsForest Home has always been a mission minded church. As a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, FHBC contributes 15% of all undesignated gifts to the Cooperative Program, which funds Baptist work around the world. FHBC also contributes to the work of Texas Baptists, the Gregg Baptist Association, East Texas Baptist University, and the Lakeview Baptist assembly. Along with these contributions, FHBC also works as a church to send out Mission teams across the country. Many of our members participate in the Baptist Disaster Relief program. FHBC has set aside over $145,000 for mission endeavors this year.
Drive-through Nativity
Observed during the first weeks of December each year, the Drive-through Nativity has become a Christmas tradition for many in the East Texas area. Now in it’s 20th year, the Drive-through nativity has grown from just a few scenes and people to a collection of 15 scenes and over 100 participants. Scenes include a snow tunnel, Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, a toboggan hill, a winter wonderland, Santa’s office, live carolers, a live New Testament market, shepherds, the Wise Men, the Nativity, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, and many others. Last year over 3900 people experienced this wonderful event. Make plans now to be a part of this year’s celebration.
